About Us

We specialise in remote location first aid for humans and canines. Our courses are practical and scenario based providing plenty of opportunity to develop skills and gain confidence to deal with emergencies in the field.  Central to our purpose is to tailor our courses to meet your needs. We understand that each environment is different and we will work with you to ensure that the content of the courses matches the requirements of the area that you operate in.

We will ensure that we cover the likely scenarios you’ll face, so you come away with the skills you need.

Pegasus First Aid is a fully regulated training centre based in the East of England and delivering courses across the UK and beyond. We are an experienced team of professionals from a variety of backgrounds including the military, emergency services, mountaineering and sport.

All of our trainers still practice their skills in the real world and bring courses to life with up to date thinking and examples from the field.

The Team

Natalie - Pegasus First Aid

Natalie

Director/ Training lead

Natalie trained as an adult general nurse in Manchester in 1993 and worked in the NHS and Social services in a range of healthcare roles until 2011 when she moved into university lecturing, gained teaching qualifications and wealth of experience of teaching across a range of healthcare degree programmes.

To keep her first aid skills sharpened, Natalie volunteers as a NHS Community First Responder.

When not working or volunteering she can be found off the beaten track either up a mountain, out training for an ultra-event of some kind or other or handling and training tracker dogs!

So why deliver canine first aid?

Whilst Natalie has never had a professional role in the canine industry, she does have 25+ years of experience of owning and fostering rescue dogs that have come with a range of behavioural and health issues.

In the past 15 years she has undertaken regular canine first aid training and also achieved qualifications in canine welfare and training (Level 4 Diploma in Canine Welfare, Training and Behaviour, Level 5 Advanced Canine Behaviour Diploma).

She is a qualified canine first responder and also a qualified canine First Responder Trainer, holding a license to deliver the Canine First Responder qualification to others.

She started Pegasus as it is a combination of all the things she loves; the outdoors, healthcare, canine welfare and teaching.

Dan

Trainer

Dan is the baby of the family but don’t let those boyish looks fool you…he brings a wealth of personal and professional experience to the team. He is the one on the left by the way…
Dan is a frontline paramedic for the NHS.

He is also an outdoors enthusiast and, when not dashing around in green can often be spotted disappearing off to far-flung places with a backpack. He also has a keen interest in expedition medicine.

Dan is a great teacher and we always receive excellent feedback for his ability to share knowledge and bring courses to life with real stories from the front line.

Chris

Trainer

Chris started climbing at Outward Bound Ullswater in 1976 and has not stopped since.

He served as a Royal Marine on the front lines in the Falklands War and in Northern Ireland gaining quite a bit of First Aid experience.

On leaving the Marines he became a full time Outdoor Instructor again at Ullswater OBMSU and then on to other Centres in the UK.

He progressed into College teaching and then into delivery of a degree programme gaining his academic and teaching qualifications.

He is a Full Member of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors and acts as a Technical Advisor Nationally.

Chis is also a Full Member of the British Association of International Mountain Leaders and has worked throughout the Alps guiding for KE Adventure.

He runs his own Climbing and Mountaineering business and continues with this while helping Veterans gain their climbing qualifications.
